Exploring Antiracism Through Dance 

A seminar with presentations, dialogue, and knowledge sharing to create positive change in the dance community.

Dear dancer, dance teacher, dance school, dance association, leisure dancer, organizer, cultural communicator and everyone interested, 

Global Kidz & World Dance Academy invite you to join us in exploring how we can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity in order to create a more inclusive society through dance. The goal is to research, identify, and understand racism in dance communities, and develop tools and methods to dismantle and prevent racism and discrimination.

Join us on Sunday, November 10th, for an inspiring, free-of-charge seminar sponsored by Københavns Kommune and Foreningen Roskilde Festival.

10.30-11.00 Arrival and coffee - meet and greet other participants

11.00-11.40 Welcome speech, introduction to the day's themes and safe space policy. Introduction to ‘Diversity, Inclusion and Norm-Critical Thinking’ by Diversity Consultant Jennifer Maria Matos Tonndorff

11.40-12.30 ‘Identity, Dance and Decolonisation’ presentation by dancer and choreographer Marie Kaae, followed by Q&A moderated by Jennifer Tonndorff

12.30-12.45 Break

12.45-13.30 ‘Dancehall: From Ghetto to Dance Industry’ with dancer and choreographer, Gage Rifical 

13.30-14.00 Refreshments & break

14.00-14.15 ‘Case: Global Kidz & World Dance Academy’ presented by Mikala Hoff Skovgaard, Director of Global Kidz & World Dance Academy

14.15-14.45 ‘Tools and Methods’ + group work, led by social activist and debater Mary Consolata Namagambe

14.45-15.00 Closing session with summary and dialogue led by Mary Consolata
